Haven't blogged for awhile because the weather has improved and couldn't stay inside when it is beautiful outside. So I have to mention the highlights for the past 10 days. On Wednesday, Feb 15/12 about 30 TG Bike Club members participated in the McAllen Golden Years Bike and Birding Event at Bentsen State Park (about 30 minutes away by car). We traillered the bikes there and then rode around the park. We saw kisadees, red shouldered hawks, greenjays and altamira orioles, plus 3 milk snakes sunning themselves in a creek. Don got to go to another Killer Bee Game but unfortunately the bees lost that night. I didn't get to this one since I had Cuddle Club at the hospital that night. Feb 18. I attended the Pioneer and Ranching Craft Day at the Museum of South Texas History in Edinburg on Feb 18. A Holiday Down Under Sydney, Australia to Auckland, New Zealand to Hawaii, USA Monday, December 16, 2024 to Wednesday, January 8, 2025 With Regent Cruises and Don and Mary Marsden Monday, December 16 - 18/24 – Clearwater, Florida to LA, CA to Sydney, Australia Flying out of Tampa on a 6 PM United Flight to LA (4 ½ hours) with a 3 hour layover before boarding the 15 hour flight to Sydney Australia. We did pay an extra $250 US for bulkhead seats so we had a bit more legroom on this long flight. We flew over the international dateline which skipped us to December 18 th so we lost December 17 th .  Wednesday, December 18/24 – Sydney, Australia.    Mostly sunny – temp of 60 to 73 degrees. We arrived at 9:30 AM, collected luggage and through Customs. $20 US Uber ride to the Hyatt Regency Sydney Hotel on Sussex Street by 11 AM and booked into Rm 1193. Crimson Canyons and Mesas National Park Tour Denver, Colorado to Las Vegas, Nevada Friday, September 20, 2024 to Sunday, September 29, 2024 With Your Man Tours (YMT) and Mary Marsden and Kate Whitehead Friday, Sept. 20/24 – Welland, Ontario to Denver, Colorado – Kate arrived from Hamilton last night since we had a morning flight from Buffalo to Denver at 11:40 AM. Don drove us over the border for our 3 hour flight to Denver. We arrived at 1:05 PM (Mountain Time). Denver Airport is huge. Sunny and 80 degrees. We found our way to the train for Downtown Denver – Union Station – 23 miles away, 37 minutes travel time and it cost us $1.35 each. We walked a mile along the 16 th Street Mall (still under construction for the past 4 years?) and had a healthy dinner at a Market Café. We explored along the way and reached our destination for the night at Hyatt Place. There we met our tour director Joe Miscavage and checked into room 1029.
